About Me

This day and age, its seldom to see a young black minority come together as a movement without it eventually failing. Usually the clash of egos cause tension in which the members of the movement don't want to settle because everyone thinks they're "too good" to parley. Issues like this commonly lead to the members splitting up, snitching on each other, sleeping with each other's girlfriend, and in the worse case, killing. However, when a movement collectively keeps their bond, stays loyal, and works together as a unit, their power is unstoppable. Founded over the Summer of 2007 by Jahlil "I.K.E." Campbell, of rap duo Fully Loaded, 80'z Babiez was always a vision he and his fellow "hustlaz" had in mind. It mainly consists of graduates, undergraduates, and 'drop-outs' at Five Towns College, who all are on the same track to become successful in the music industry by any means. Although everyone in the movement was or is still attending the school that seated artists Nina Sky, Wyclef Jean, Olivia, Maroon 5, Chrisete Michele, and many more, in their classrooms, having attended FTC isn't a requirement. Trust, honesty, loyalty, creativeness, and ambitious are definitely a few. In other words, almost anybody who fits those requirements can join and add his/her own flavor to the dish. Most of the time its difficult to determine if a movement will last while its still in its early stages. However, time will show and tell that this movement will be around long after the next big trend dies and comes back in style. Listening to their first 80'z Babiez compilation proves that they firmly have the music side covered. It features up-and-coming artists Fully Loaded (I.K.E. & Big C), Evidence (Dice & Focus), Balistik the Messiah (Ryschis Recordz), raw lyricist GM, and R&B crooners Moodswing and Tunes. The compilation even features a guest appearance by TVT Records own, Teedra Moses, on her hit "Backstroke" remixed by Fully Loaded. Speaking for everyone that has a copy, its safe to say that its history in the making. Like the future business entrepreneur, Roland "Rolex" Taylor, humbly says on the intro "Aint no music like real music."
