About Me
Since a teenager, xsessiv [David Lotay] has been one of the forefront of Perth's Drum & Bass scene.
Being born in London - England in 1982, followed by migrating to Perth - Australia when he was just 15 and having starting his journey back in the late 90's, xsessiv first MC'd for the likes of DJ Fresh & Maldini of Bad Company at the age of 17! Their first time to Australia was remembered as one of the best parties of that year.As the journey continued through the years, Dave found himself snatched up as resident MC for Perth's leading and biggest Drum & Bass clubs such as Calibre, Drum Club and Frequency, all remembered for their week by week tearout partys, bringing in new people to the music and hosted national & international guest parties on an almost bi-weekly level..Dave has been toured around Australia several times to MC at the major music festivals and events in such citys as Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney and chosen to be personal MC for such names as Grooverider, JMajik, Pendulum, Moving Fusion, Bailey, Cause4Concern, DJ SS, Zinc, Noisia, Edrush & Optical, Shimon, D-Bridge, Marcus Intalex, DJ Fresh, Calibre, DJ Marky, Fabio, Matrix, Sub Focus just to name a few! These days he's known for MC'ing at the major weekly events, outdoor festivals & other international events in Perth's ever growing scene. Being the first person to hold residency at two of the city's largest clubs on a Saturday night.Recently xsessiv won the Perth Dance Music Awards 2007 "Best MC" award and was recognised at the ceremony after only coming 2nd in previous years. Dave has also progressed with his music production to gain international attention. In August of 2007 DJ Go from Mixologists in UK took interest in the track "Nocturnal" which was then remastered and asked to be signed for a 2008 release on Torq Recordings. Wheather it sees the light of day or not, it was enough for xsessiv to pursue his interests more towards producing the music. Watch this space for some upcoming finished tracks...
