SATIN LOVE ORCHESTRA
Playing sold out shows since the late 1997, SLO has never lost it’s loyal
following of disco fanatics. Their eclectic mix of hard-driving dance hits
has included hits from Earth Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, KC and the
Sunshine Band, and other legends of the 70’s and 80’s. From the beginning SLO has enjoyed being booked to headline events including the Fort Vancouver Freedom Festival, Eugene Celebration, Bite of Salem, and Art and the Vineyard.
The Eugene based, 11 member disco/funk group packs every show with
as much adrenaline as any party animal can stand, and their appearance
features a metallic 70’s inspired wardrobe with no flare to spare. From their
first performance at Eugene’s Wild Duck Brewery, it was clear that SLO
was no ordinary band. They often make their entrance in a white stretch
limousine, which drove through a side access and right onto the dance
floor, bathed in a swirl of disco lights. This bit has become the bands’
well-known trademark, and the crowd eats it up. When the music starts,
it's no question of whether the music will sound as quality as they
look. Full of serious gigging musicians, SLO loves to bring the funk right.SLO’s sound is anchored by the fabulous voice of singer
Matthew Love, rising above thick, jammin' dance grooves with an
unending energy. Female vocalists Shelley James and Rica
Wright help Matt create a power trio of vocals. Together the
three leads belt out 3 part harmonies with remarkable clarity. Mr. CCman who plays bass, and percussion, steps out and thrills the crowd with dance routines which include pop lock, break dance and acrobatics.Keyboardist Mo'Fessor adds additional vocal harmonies
and perfect keyboard rhythms. Guitarist, Joey Captain Crunch, nails all of the famous guitar parts, and at times steers his sound away from traditional toward his signature blazing "groovy metal" sound. It is quite unreal.Horn players, Ross Warren, Ryan Warren and Dana Heitman, deliver sweet
bursts of brass, reminiscent of the disco era, while DRide and veteran drummer,
Jason "Wonder"Palmer round out SLO’s polished rhythm section which includes 3
rotating bass players in the ensemble.
Some of SLO's memorable shows include fundraisers for the Child Center, American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity. Venues include the Wild Duck Music Hall, The Filbert Fest,
Valley River Inn new Year's Eve, Art in the Vineyard, Lane County Fair, Habitat
for Humanity, C.O.B.R.A., Oregon Country Fair, and the Las Vegas Hilton. For Booking contact:
