The Superchiefs

About Me

The Superchiefs have been playing in one form or another since the summer of 2003 when the band members' respective acts broke up. The band has been playing regularly on the Milwaukee music scene since its inception. Their passion for 30s swing--in all its forms--is tempered only by their technical skills. Starting off as a four piece drumless and reed-less act, the band played an even mix of old school country tunes, western swing favorites, and the occasional jazz standard. Since their lead guitarist Loren Tilley left them (www.myspace.com/lorentilley) for bluer waters, the band has focused more on standards and obscure jazz and western swing tunes. The current line-up--tenor sax, guitar, fiddle, double bass, and drums--can be witenessed every first and third Friday at Onopa Brewing Co. in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood.
