Laurent & Lewis is an Amsterdam based duet making beautiful Pop/House music. One (Laurent Chambon [lo'Êã ʃã'bõ], 1972) is French and grew up in Paris, the other (Lewis de Janeiro ['luıs dÊ’i Ê’ÊŒ'nejɾu], 1966) one has an American dad, his mom is Portuguese from Brazil and he grew up between Holland, the States and Brazil. While Laurent got a PhD in political sciences and then elected in Amsterdam for the Dutch Labour Party, Lewis has been gardner, horse riding instructor, accountant, UNCR inspector, homeless, member of a Christian sect and only white singer of a Black choir.
They met in 2000 and found themselves stuck in a huge traffic jam somewhere between Rotterdam and Brussels: they decided to get married and to write songs together. «Überlove» is the product of this decision, result of numerous concerts and DJ sets in France, Holland and Norway, of musical travels in Europe and Detroit.
«Überlove» is Laurent & Lewis's first album. Long awaited, it is probably the most Trans-Atlantic and Pan-European record of the moment. Recorded and mixed in Amsterdam (NL), Paris (FR), Detroit (MI), Lisbon (PT), Helsinki (FI) and Dale i Sunnfjord (NO), it was mastered in Lappeenranta (FI), capital city of South Carelia, and also of... Nordic and Russian Hard Rock, «Überlove» is a gorgeous mix of European Pop, Detroit Techno, French Deep House, Amsterdam Electro and Classic Disco.
«Motion», the first extract of the album, featuring Detroit diva Aaron-Carl was already voted best track at the Amsterdam Dance Event 2007 by Kevin Saunderson and Dave Clarke. «Just want To Be Loved», the second single, proves the duet can write impeccable Pop-Disco hits. The rest of the album is as good as these two songs: «Überlove» is already considered a masterpiece by some.
