What is your name and why did you choose it?
Xact, it speaks for itself .Everything I do has to be on point. The reason It’s spelled an with X is because X is for the unknown. Act is abbreviated for actions so you never know what the fuck I might do, but its going to be on point.
When did you start rapping and who are your past and present influences?
I started rapping around 1993-94. Some of my influences were people like Rakim. He was ahead of his time with his lyrics and being so outspoken. Slick Rick because he was able to tell you a story and you could envision what he said as powerful. NWA because they represented the hardest when they came out and if you never owned a NWA tape or someone who was affiliated with there crew you don’t deserve to listen to hip hop ever again. If I could collaborate with anyone who would it be? There are to many people to name but you cant go wrong with Barrington on a hook, a beat with Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Timberland or the Neptunes.
If you could meet anyone from history who would it be and why?
Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye for there musical talents. Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcom X for there leadership skills and for standing up for what they believe in. They pushed for the rights of black people and if they didnt, I probably woudn't be writing or playing the music I do now. Richard Prior because everybody loves a good laugh and one from the inovater of black comedy would be a blessing.
If you weren't in the music industry what would you be doing?
I've been doing this so long I cant call it! Before I was playing football, so I could have possibly put all my effort in that if I didn't have hip hop. I really dont know though but I'd be getting paid somehow.
