Dreaming of Lions was formed out of a love of simplicity, and the idea that creativity is an end in itself. It abandons the idea that success can be measured by quantity, and sees art as an important force in the world.Dreaming of Lions was born in 2005 when Chris Leland began recording his songs for the first time. Those recordings grew to be the album "Songs to the Wind" which became Cloud Hidden Records first release. "Pretending to be Unkept" was released by Dreaming of Lions in 2006 and grew to be an influential album within Las Vegas' Indie-Folk scene. Dreaming of Lions' "Tie Me in Tune" was released in the spring of 2007 at the Las Vegas Indie-Folk Festival. In 2008, Dreaming of Lions released a split record, shared with Hungry Cloud, called "This Same River." B-sides and alternative takes from "This Same River" were collected as the album "I Get Sober." In August of 2008, the live album "Her Ghost" was recorded for National Southwestern Electronic Recordings.
