How We Survive Is What Makes Us Who We Are

There are a lot of things that affect my life from day to day. Music is one major factor because it can change any mood that may come about. You can relate a song to any part of your life. The good times and the bad times make life worth living and thats why I love life. Life is a sequence of mistakes that mold you into who you are today and what you will become in the future. I know the mistakes that I have made in previous years have made me who I am and what i will become in the future. Some people say that joining the Marine Corps was a mistake, but thats what they think and they arent in my shoes. I am doing a valant thing for my country and the people that dont believe in what we do. We protect the freedom of the best country in the world and the future of mankind. I dont take anything for granite because in this profession that I am in I could be anywhere in the world in a matter of days and that scares some people. It really doesnt scare me because I know that all by brothers are going to be there with me. They are going to be by my side regardless of how scared we are. They are my family and they know that i would take a bullet or throw myself on a grenade for them. I really do love my job and the people that i wouldnt have met if i diddnt sign that contract. Four years is a small time to learn all that i have and meet the people that i will love and see the rest of my life. Just like every other job there are the drawbacks that go along with them. Missing my family back home and the events that mean a lot to me is the hardest. Missing all the people that have always been there for me (My Mom and Dad, My Sister, Austin, Sean, Ashley, Abbey are just a few) and the times when they need a shoulder to lean on. You never know what is going to happen tommorow and you cant begin to predict the future. Just live day to day and pray that everyone that you love is safe and out of harms way. The people that you meet every day effect your life and half the time you dont realise it. The good people, the bad people, the people that lack character, the people you see on the news, the people you know and love the most. I try not to hold grudges because you dont know what will happen tommorow and there is no reason to hate someone for something as small as a cheating lover or a lover that donesnt love you as much as you love him or her. That is a big deal, but in the same aspect dont let yourself get pushed around. Live your own life and make your own decisions. Make your life what you want it to be because no one can live your life but you. Most call me tank, fish, or Antwone(as in the movie). My home is in Tell City and I love it there because im a country boy at heart. I am currently at my duty station in Kanehoe, Bay Hawaii and im lovin it. Theres nothing like a party in Hawaii. My MOS(Military Occupationial Speciality) is a 2131, which is a artillery mechanic. I work on the gun behind this. I also fire it from time to time when we are in the field.
