I am a DJ.. I LOVE to play Hardcore, but I have a large collection and feel pretty comfortable playing any EDM.. I also love some house music and will not hesitate to throw it down.. Basically whatever fits the show is what Im gonna play... Something you will never hear me say "I only spin____".. Variety is the spice of life and my style reflects this.. But I like listening to anything Electronic..(The harder the better) Im an oldschool raver and I live my life this way.. Live and let live PLUR and all that.. Some say you cant change the world.. I say these people are wrong.. We can change the world one party (and one trak) at a time.. Im am a Raver, Hippie, a metal head, a geek, a sports junkie, a musician, Im am the whole package.. The world that we live in is far from perfect. In actuality, it's a mess! There r wars being fought over money, power, religion and other selfish disagreements. There is hatred caused by bigotry and racism. There is hunger and famine. There is crime caused by greed. There is chaos caused by confusion. There is an overall lack of communication among us fellow human beings. We r slowly destroying ourselves. Somewhere along our historical chain of events, humankind took a wrong turn and kept on going. However, the youth of America today can either keep following the same old road or start leading a new path 4 themselves. Though not 1 person alone can change this world, we as a peoplecan send a positive message from our international movement; and our movement is called RAVE! A Radical Audio Visual Expierence.
Raves are a spawning ground 4 inspiring today's youth towards building a new awareness in their individuality. An awareness that promotes inner peace, open-mindedness and free expression of one's thoughts and feelings about themselves and of others. It is a bonding ritual that promotes peace with all, love with one another, and unity 4 all of mankind> Ravesr a celebration of life, an escapism against the reality of the worlds' imperfections. It is an anticapated social event where 1 can release their anxieties, fears and worries while at the same timegain insight that their is hope.
Raves r a therapeutic unified gathering that can continuously help an individual learn more about their strengths and weaknesses and can help channel their energy towards a positive direction in their life. For those ravers who truly understand the concept of raving(DJ's spinning powerful music as the masses perform an all night tribal dancefest), the event itself becomes a spiritual and educational expierence. However, the common conclusion thats reached is consistently the same.
That the world isn't perfect and neither am I. And though I can't save the world, I still promote peace, love and unity. And by doing so, i can save my own little world and make a diffewrence in every enviorment I walk upon. Therefore, my intentions in life r good. And knowing that I am a positive impact on peoples' lives, I am at incredible peace with myself. I can continue on living my dream as my exisistence forges on, makinggreat contributions 2 society. I am a vital member of the international RAVE movement and we have a very clear and positive message 2 deliver. That we all need 2 share the power of love and that we must unite ourselves as one, people 4 peace.
A peace so strong that it expands throughout the world. A peace that can make every 1 person on this beautiful planet forget the error of their ways and open their minds 2 living PLUR. PLUR is more then just a word or acronym it is an action, a lifestyle and the way we should all live. PLUR can b applied 2 our scene. PLUR can b applied 2 ourselves. It can b applied 2 our existance. It must b applied 2 our future. I believe in the strength of this generation. I believe that this thing called RAVE should be a direct reflection of life. That it is possible 2 take PLUR beyond the doors of an event. It all begins with u.
I am tired of raves getting misrepresented and ppl thinking that they r unsafe. PPL and venues actually encourage a drug free life and they always say "LET THE MUSIC TAKE U HIGHER" we do this 2 celebrate and 2 live 1 nite together as 1. Raves r the most safe enviorment 4 us, u can go up 2 someone u have never even met or seen before and give them a hug and tell them u love them and u can expect a hugback and a duplicate response telling u they in return love u as well. And it is the utter truth, u and this room filled with ppl, u share many things incommon but the biggest thing u share is love. A love so strong 4 one other, not an intimate love but a love, simply4 u who r and 4 you exisistence, a love because u r a person in like of them. You r completely accepted with open hearts, minds and arms into it all and u have the support of everyone. No 1 judges and even though u may never laugh with them, cry with them, hug them or kiss them, you love them. You love them so much and even though u may never see them again u r bestfriends 4 that 1 nite and they remain in ur life forever and u share life changing expierences and the best memories, and they will forever remain in ur life and they will always mean so much 2 u. You leave those buildings that ppl have left 2 b abandonded and torn down, u leave these buildings with so much more then memories of a fun nite, but u leave with more friends then u first came with!And it is that, that time when u were addicted, not 2 drugs but 2 the feeling, 2 the expierence.
Within the scene some of us have already made the choice 2 transcend out of rave and into our everyday world and apply that same philosophy 2 our lives and begin making a difference. The time has come 2 realize our futures. I too have a dream......
RAVER MANIFESTO:::::::::::Our emotional state of choice is Ecstasy. Our nourishment of choice is Love. Our addiction of choice is technology. Our religion of choice is music. Our currency of choice is knowledge. Our politics of choice is none. Our society of choice is utopian though we know it will never be.
You may hate us. You may dismiss us. You may misunderstand us. You may be unaware of our existence. We can only hope you do not care to judge us, because we would never judge you. We are not criminals. We are not disillusioned. We are not drug addicts. We are not naive children. We are one massive, global, tribal village that transcends man-made law, physical geography, and time itself. We are The Massive. One Massive.
We were first drawn by the sound. From far away, the thunderous, muffled, echoing beat was comparable to a mother's heart soothing a child in her womb of concrete, steel, and electrical wiring. We were drawn back into this womb, and there, in the heat, dampness, and darkness of it, we came to accept that we are all equal. Not only to the darkness, and to ourselves, but to the very music slamming into us and passing through our souls: we are all equal. And somewhere around 35Hz we could feel the hand of God at our backs, pushing us forward, pushing us to push ourselves to strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our spirits. Pushing us to turn to the person beside us to join hands and uplift them by sharing the uncontrollable joy we felt from creating this magical bubble that can, for one evening, protect us from the horrors, atrocities, and pollution of the outside world. It is in that very instant, with these initial realizations that each of us was truly born.
We continue to pack our bodies into clubs, or warehouses, or buildings you've abandoned and left for naught, and we bring life to them for one night. Strong, throbbing, vibrant life in it's purest, most intense, most hedonistic form. In these makeshift spaces, we seek to shed ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future you have been unable to stabilize and secure for us. We seek to relinquish our inhibitions, and free ourselves from the shackles and restraints you've put on us for your own peace of mind. We seek to re-write the programming that you have tried to indoctrinate us with since the moment we were born. Programming that tells us to hate, that tells us to judge, that tells us to stuff ourselves into the nearest and most convenient pigeon hole possible. Programming that even tells us to climb ladders for you, jump through hoops, and run through mazes and on hamster wheels. Programming that tells us to eat from the shiny silver spoon you are trying to feed us with, instead of nourish ourselves with our own capable hands. Programming that tells us to close our minds, instead of open them.
Until the sun rises to burn our eyes by revealing the distopian reality of a world you've created for us, we dance fiercely with our brothers and sisters in celebration of our life, of our culture, and of the values we believe in: Peace, Love, Freedom, Tolerance, Unity, Harmony, Expression, Responsibility and Respect.
Our enemy of choice is ignorance. Our weapon of choice is information. Our crime of choice is breaking and challenging whatever laws you feel you need to put in place to stop us from celebrating our existence. But know that while you may shut down any given party, on any given night, in any given city, in any given country or continent on this beautiful planet, you can never shut down the entire party. You don't have access to that switch, no matter what you may think. The music will never stop. The heartbeat will never fade. The party will never end.
