music, drumming and gay lovin' are my favorite things in the whole world. i love to cook crazy stirfrys, snap photos, ride my bike, read books, watch sunsets from the beach. i love to go on ski trips with my parents and my sister when time and money permit. i like to move and shake, drink gin and juice, let loose and have a grand ol' time.

ok, i'll start from the beginning. i grew up heavily influenced by my father, he's an organist and he loves his rhythm/blues, funk, rock and new wave. i was a weird kid, i walked to school at age 8 with a ghetto blaster on my shoulder, pumpin' tears for fears. my first lp was salt n pepper's 'a salt with a deadly pepa' and my first tapes were prince's first few albums. i was force fed tons of tower of power, steely dan, level 42, beatles, sam and dave, ray charles, james brown, beach boys, the tubes, the band, rolling stones, mammas and the pappas, and so on. currently, i listen to just about anything. as a drummer, i often notice the percussive side of things, but i'm a sucker for a great melody too. i like to think i'm attentive to all aspects of music. i tend to obsess, over-listening to a particular artist until i get sick of it. i don't discriminate between genres, there are very few that i don't listen to. from punk-rock, to jazz, indie-rock, new wave, disco or even electronica. it all has some redeeming qualities and i think its importantant to be open to anything. i'm currently listening to jeff buckley, hall and oats, broken social scene, teenage fanclub, rollins band, the yeah yeah yeahs, the reason, whitey houston, minus the bear, the bird and the bee, the damned. got any good suggestions?
the same dozen movies everyone one in my generation adores, plus 'the gods must be crazy' pt 1 and 2.
yeah, not so much.
