About Me

I’m a cat that knows what he wants, and that’s scotch, and bourbon, and whiskey, and then a back rub, and then maybe a trip down to the shooting range before the rage blackouts set in. You see, there’s no point in caring about the people who love you, cause they’re gonna do it anyway. That’s why they bought you with money, because they want to flatter themselves with harmless little creatures who don’t make them feel stupid, or unattractive or boring or irresponsible, and so on. There’s no end to the number of insecurities that your mere presence is supposed to assuage, so I don’t need to return the affection. It’s hard work purring to keep your ego from falling to pieces. So don’t bother me. I’m taking a nap, but you can stare at my cute little belly if you like.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I like older women, but not ones that talk too much. I like tabbies with dark, full fur. I'd like to meet tomcats who like to sit around and smoke cigars. I like pool, I like rum and I like hookers, but not necessarily in that order. If you can't stand the smell of kitty litter, then go take the dog for a walk. I've got better things to do. And for the last time, I'm not your cat. I'm not your pet. I'm not anyone's pet but my own. I don't stay here because I love you, I stay here because I can use you, and use you and use you, and it amuses me that you just sit there an take it like a toad on Nyquil. No more human female admirers. I already know that I’m cute and cuddly. I know how to use a mirror, thank you. Do you think I just woke up with this hair, and this mustache? I want to meet people that can take me places. If you have any good stock tips or sure winners at the tract, or know of any new pleasure palaces on the strip, then give me call. Otherwise, you can keep your birthdays party and baby showers, unless you intend to have strippers. That’s just not my thing. And I don’t purr, unless you intend to arrest me. It’s not dignified, and gives people the wrong impression that I like having them around.

Misfiring

Nothing is starting to happen again, and now that talking is difficult, all that is left are complaints about gestures and facial expressions all out of balance with what I wanted to say.  Writin...

The Eternal Return and Other Practical Postulates

A history of the disappearance of the past in the present can identify its fragments and forms only as they pass out of existence.  Rank, power and prestige were once fus...

Artistic Intention

Ugliness

Art cannot avoid the ugliness out of indignation toward an industrial world that rejects both formal and moral equilibrium, where equal exchange reigns in the place of justice and moral proportion, be...

Aesthetic Harmony

In art, we look at the past from the point of the view of an enormous, projected future catastrophe, veiling the contours of a foreseeable end to human misery.  Art is great only when it in...

A Particular without a Concept

Aesthetic autonomy is a specific relationship to the world, in which art relates to its empirical opposite as independent, even while the very image of its independence reflects the world from which i...

Art and Theology

Art is what emerges when the practical postulate of ethical action has died, and metaphysics is forfeit in favor of faith that the market will move our goods and ourselves where we are destined to die...
