la Máxima Expresión de la Música Folklórica Latinoamericana: Los Kjarkas de Bolivia!Los Kjarkas started their work in 1971 , with a new style of Andean folklore, which started in Bolivia. Their songs and their style brought new inspiration to other musicians and to the young people of the region. Their songs made people identifying their daily life and situation with the poems of the songs, and because of this, the groups popularity has grown into one of the most famous bands of Bolivia and south America.
Los Kjarkas was known in Japan when they won a contest there for the best song, and soon there was a half a dozen bands who imitated Los Kjarkas and their style in Japan. This happened in the 1980ies, later the group also where known for being the authors of the song "Llorando se fue" which a latinpop group stole and plagiated under the title LAMBADA. They have been various time in Europe, USA, and Asia during their long period of successful artistry, still they come every year to USA and to Europe to maintain their good relations to all their fans.
Los Kjarkas are now a national item of Bolivia, and they travel all around the americas and europe with their performances, where people greet them everywhere, especially migrants from the andean area who live far from their own culture. The band have gained more than 5000 different prizes during the 33 years they have been around, and have sold more records than any other band in south America and more than Rolling Stones and Beatles all together, their prices these 30 years are more than 5000. All together they have made about 35 records since 1971.
The latest product (2004) is a DVD called "Más Allá", and its a professional production made in Bolivia, for the first time a folklore band have produced a DVD with full time concert, karaoke, and documentaries about the band and the making of the DVD. The Next CD is out around February 2006.

Los Kjarkas se dan a conocer en 1971, imponiendo una corriente nueva al folklore tradicionalista y estático predominante en Bolivia; trayendo en ello un mensaje propio para la juventud, con poemas que encierran problemáticas identificadas con el pueblo boliviano.
Su música la traen desde los valles tibios y las verdes campiñas, desde sus escarpadas mustias pampas, desde sus llanos echos con selva, cielo y rÃos hasta conjugar sutilmente la historia y futuro de Bolivia.
Han estremecido mesetas montañosas de Baviera, los valles del Rin, los montes metálicos de Sajonia y toda la sobria Europa. El canto indoamericano ha cautivado la lejana y misteriosa China y ha conquistado el oriente insular de Asia, teniendo en Japón éxitos que ningún otro grupo de artistas o solistas latinoamericanos hayan logrado anteriormente.
Varios discos de oro, platino y doble platino, son el certificado de la calidad de Kjarkas, en la interpretación y composición que contemplan a sus componentes, "aertistas" en todo el sentido de la palabra, amplia trayectoria, mulitplicidad en la ejecución de sus instrumentos, celebridad, romance, carisma, poesia y sentimiento en la composición de todos sus temas.... Asà son Los Kjarkas, quienes en el recorrido por casi todo el planeta hicieron sentir el lenguaje musical de nuestra patria; llevando en sus alforjas ideológicas toda la cultura ancestral, demostrando ser "Embajadores únicos en su género de la música boliviana!"
