So I have started taking graduate school classes in anticipation of my graduate school admissions in the MPH (maternal & child health focus)/MPP program! I took 25 units Fa 07' (PH 212 int'l maternal child health, PH 253 Aids epidemic, PH 213 Family planning and population, PP 290 Public Policy Negotiations, PP 280 Graduate Independent Research, FR 126 french seminar on Rousseau, Econ 100A microeconomics) Whew, I need a vacation, Europe anybody?! This, on top of Graduate school applications is enough to kill a person. Now, I'm looking for an internship for next semester for an NGO that will give me experience in international field work. I have searched for the global health initiative, WHO, UNESCO, UNFPA, Red Cross, Engender Health, CDC, CFHC, Bixby Program, etc. Let me know if there are others... I have become very interested in female reproduction, and will consider medical school after this, perhaps to eventually become an OBGYN and sign up for doctors without borders. I would love to visit some developing countries to get a feel of what I can look forward to, helping increase women's access to family planning and safe abortion abroad, where they have little rights. I have been in Berkeley for longer than I would like to admit, and I may be signing on for 3 more years before moving on to medical school. Most of my friends have already moved on...so if you think that we might hit it off and you are local let me know if you would like to hang out. If you are down for a language exchange let me know as well... I speak french and I'm interested in learning: German and Spanish.
