DJ Open Ocean is an electronica artist based in Athens, Greece. His sound is influenced by many top producers such as Ferry Corsten, Tiesto Cygnus X and of course Kraftwerk and Jean Michel Jarre. He’s been involved with music for around 10 years now but his life as a professional began in 2000 with the release of an EP through a small independent label called "Thirdwave Records". This was a collaboration with Matt Gall who stormed clubs with his trance anthem "Then Comes Night". Following this in 2001, he was part of a collective called "Cosmic Citizens" who released two singles on another independent label based in the U.K. His career progressed rapidly, and 2003 was a great year which saw DJ Open Ocean work with more labels from abroad, most notably one in Denmark which released a single from another project of his called "Enlight". This single proved to be his biggest success and garnered great interest in the U.K., receiving substantial airplay from Graham Gold at “Ministry of Sound†and Kiss FM radio. In 2004 DJ Open Ocean focused once more on local projects and signed a publishing deal with a top publishing house in Denmark. The year 2005 is proving to be the most exciting year for DJ Open Ocean. He has just finalised a deal with SOC Records, which will see the company promote his new untitled EP of euphoric trance. This has already been picked up by a number of local DJs and is becoming a big hit in the Manchester dance scene. The tracks can be heard on ALL FM radio where you can also hear all the material from other artists of SOC Records. in 2006/07 Panos got involved into more mainstream sounds and he actually got his hands on a eurovision track that got a nice place last year in the contest held here in Athens.apart from that he also got involved with remix work for various local artists and tv stations and of course he keeps on remixing some great tunes on Realworldremixed site.Currently working on a couple of remixes from famous bands of the 80s so more to come...
