Success is not the destination, it is the journey. While drugs and crime infested the Logan Section of the city, young Shiz Lansky was honing in on his lyrical skills. Born Sean Lassiter in Philadelphia's 'Sinking House' section, Shiz, slang for Sean, was a name his childhood peers gave him. Lansky was a name adopted from prominate 1920's gangster Meyer Lansky.When inquired about his influences, Shiz explains, "I've been influenced by music as a whole, it would be inaccurate to say I was influenced by one certain artist, or any one particular genre. So when it comes to music,I am fully influenced by diversity."
Shiz formed the group, Larsiny, with two teenage friends, Barry "Cassidy" Reese, and Rodney "Cal-Akbar" Jean-Jaques. The group signed with Ruff Ryders in 1999. Shiz featured, co-wrote, and produced songs on Ryde or Die Volumes 2-4. Shiz also co-wrote the hit single, "Got It All" featuring Eve and Jada Kiss. However, the group parted ways with Ruff Ryders in 2001.The composition of Shiz Lansky includes writer, recording artist, producer and business man. Shiz Lansky's lyrical aesthetics enables him to transcend musical standards. His keen business sense allows for entrepreneurial development. Shiz's charasmatic aura is embedded in his rhyme scheme, and the intensity of his lyrics makes him destined to be one of the greatest artists of our time.
Currently Shiz is featured on Cassidy's thrid album release titled, B.A.R.S.
