Offiie Dennis 7/29/81-6/17/06Former Hillsborough High track star gunned down A former Hillsborough High School football and track star was shot and killed in New Brunswick early today, after leaving a party with his brother and two childhood friends, authorities and family members said. Offie Dennis, 24, who graduated from Hillsborough High in 2000, was gunned down on the sidewalk in front of a house at 97 Senior St. Dennis' brother Andre, 22, was with him, according to police.Dennis' family said this afternoon they had been told the group had been at a party where there was a fight, but left to get pizza and were walking on the street when a car drove by and shots rang out.Authorities this evening said no one has been arrested and that police do not have a motive."He was just a fun-loving guy, everybody loved him. He was full of life. He loved to have a good time," said the victim's mother, Lolitha. She said she did not know why someone would want to harm her son."All we heard was that they were ocming from a pizza parlor in New Brunswick and somebody came by in a car," Lolitha Davis said. "It was a shock."At Hillsborough High, set a still-unbroken school record - 10.7 seconds - for the 100-meter dash, Refi said. A football player as well as a track star, Dennis carried for 275 yards and scored four touchdowns in his very first game for the team, Refi added, quoting the stats from memory."He was probably the most popular boy at the school," said Rich Refi, one of Dennis' track coaches. "The kids loved him and the coaches loved him."
