Born June 9 th in Long Beach California to Rock Goodin and Leiko Sano, Leonard moved to Osaka Japan at the age of 3 with his Mother while his father continued to tour internationally as a drummer/vocalist in the funk band Kiddo (a P-Funk offspring group at A&M Records formed by former Parliament-Funkadelic guitarist Michael Hampton and writer Donnie Sterling ). After a 3 year residence in Japan, Leonard returned to Long Beach fluent in Japanese but lacking understanding of the English language. Striving not to remain under the circumstances in which he grew as a youth, he focused completely on school as his means to succeed and graduated with Honors at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. While Leonard's life before college was a blur, the details and focus of his life expanded beyond education and gravitated more socially during his college career. As an Architecture student attending California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, he began to feel constrained by the notion of a lifelong “9 to 5†job. During this time, Leonard made subtle changes to his name, personality, and outlook on life. Identifying himself now as Leo, he placed education at second priority to his own social well-being. After 3 years of Architecture, He joined one of nine divine National Black Fraternities and decided to switch to Business Administrations to broaden his future alternatives. Graduating after 6 1/2 years of education; 3 years in Architecture and 3 1/2 years of Business, Leo is abandoning his degree all together to pursue…. ………… ……… (To Be continued)…
