About Me

Right off the bat let me say that I feel conflicted about being on MySpace. There's a lot of cool stuff but there's also much much questionable material here... as well as ads for Victoria's Secret, Planned Parenthood, etc. I joined a MySpace group called "Tom Change the Advertising". Not sure if it had much effect though. *********************************************************** YOUNG PEOPLE and THEIR PARENTS: Please use caution in navigating MySpace. Anybody can post just about anything. As a result there's cool stuff and uncool stuff. If your MySpace friends are taking part in or promoting the uncool stuff - please give them some positive encouragement (and if they don't respond consider dropping them as friends!). Please severely limit the amount of personal information you share. Consider having a 'Private' profile that cannot be accessed by strangers. If I sound like a Dad, that's because I am. :) ************************************************************ * I'm a worship leader, piano player and composer based in Seattle WA. I've been involved in playing music at church pretty much my whole life. I've been involved in LifeTeen for the past decade and love the vitality that it offers the church. I'm excited to have my first CD of original worship music Offering picked up by one of the major Catholic publishers - World Library Publications. And thirteen of my songs are being published in their brand-new worship collection Voices as One, Volume 2. ************************************************************ If you get a chance, check out my website www.yackley.com. I've got some flash videos there, including In You, Lord - which Catholic Music Network recently called "one of 2005's great Catholic songs" (obviously not but that was nice that they said that!). I've also got a tribute to JPII and Blessed Teresa. ************************************************************ Recently I've come to the self-realization that I have a short attention span. So my music tends to reflect that! If I start to get settled in one area too long, I start to explore other means of expression. I just posted a new song (NOT a worship song per se) called 'Nerd' - a humorous take on our freakiness - and by golly, if we're freaky, at least we're God's freaky people! Anyway, thanks for stopping by and in everything let God be praised!
