I have decided to not list any of my musical preferences in protest of this new-found musical segregation that is sweeping over the world today. For some reason music has become the new acceptable form of racism and I choose to boycott this ridiculous nonsense. Music is music and is meant to be enjoyed, and this separation between genres is destroying/diluting its true meaning. To everyone that pretends that they are cool because they listen to a certain genre of music and allow themselves to be a tool of that genre's ideals and aesthetic bullshit, you need a good solid kick in the face. As well you need to quit pretending that it is okay to talk people down because of their separate musical choices, preferences and differences. I recall a certain group of people in our history that mistreated/tried to eraticate other sub-groups because they were percieved as being 'different"/"inferior,' and it is my perception they aren’t very well liked anymore. When everyone grows up and stops acting as musical biggots, then and only then will I feel that it is time for me to stop my protest. Until then all I have to say is:
Your music is better than mine.
Your music is cooler than mine.
I listen to "crappy" music in comparison to your's.
I suck because I don’t listen to your favorite band.
You probably listened to the bands I like well before me.
That makes you cooler than me.
And well… I could care less.
