About Me

First of all, my blog starts on December 22, 2005...lots of inside info there...Tho a sympathizer of this group, I do most of my writing at the Left/Right, Anarchism, and Social Justice, and the Myspace Debate Forum groups. (See My Groups if you must). The Top 8 Friends changes every 1 to 3 days. If you're there, feel honored. If you're not, check back cuz you'll be on there sooner or later...depending on what I'm spelling, color scheme, face profile direction, etc. Yeah, it's art.I have a t-shirt business featuring humor and anti-politics . I should get a bit more active with it...I like to fool around in the kitchen; sometimes I cook. Don't like people with a heart of stone : they take me for granite. I make my living playing music (drumkit) and teaching music, privately (feel free to contact me for lessons. Warning : be serious cuz I don't suffer fools gladly!)...(beginner/advanced drumkit & beginner/intermediate guitar). Currant-ly raisin hell and heaven with SWIRVE (me and Chris Curiel on trpt/electronics) which is 50% composed 50% improvised music with one CD called Music For Inconsequential Behavior. The TIDBITS : me on convoluted drumkit & assistant MC, Kenny Withrow on gtrs/electronics/machines/gizmo-ologies, and Kim Corbet on keyboards, occasional trombone, MC, toys, hand drums, lots of wires poking out of blinking boxes) which is 100% improvised music with 3 CD's : Impossible Music, Bunk As Pitch, and Bobbing For Fries. Am an occasional member of techno/new wave band called Isopod . Am the drummer for Cricket Taylor's Electro-Magnetics (Cricket Taylor, Kenny Withrow, GB) and another band who's name I don't know cuz I just joined them but the singer/guitarist/composer is called Alia and she came with a cellist. Also am the composer and "Drummer A" for a 6 piece gloriously "back in the saddle" 2 drumset band called "Magga". We're in rehearsal mode but due to "musicians lead complicated lives" I am always in need of musicians who can fill-in. Yep, if you play guitar, keyboard, or bass and are amazing do check with me about joining the "Magga" extended army! Also do free-lance gigs etc with pretty much anybody who either pays or is fun to play with...Call me: I could always use one more gig. You'll also find me Tuesday evenings down at Sandaga Market (1325 E.Levee St., Dallas 75207) with the house band during the Tuesday open jam session. Come by and sit-in. "Swirve" (or some variant of it) is always at the Absinthe Lounge (South Side building on Lamar, Dallas) as part of the Mad Swirl open mic poetry shindig the first Wednesday of each and every month. We do an hour set from 8pm till 9pm and occsional music breaks there after till 1am or so.I read a lot, mostly "furrowed brow" political economy stuff by folks that advocate free minds/free markets. Don't own a gun, but glad some do, and am not in favor of those that advocate the use of force to further social, economic , or political goals. I don't own a TV. Everyone else does so I'm not too much outa touch with reality! Prefer to wear socks with my shoes. Briefly, I like boxers. Born in Oklahoma (where the wind comes runnin' down the plain & cries Mary), Pre-school Venezuela, elementary school in Agha-Jari and MIS (Masjid-i-Suleiman) Iran, most summers were spent in southwestern France at Bonnemaman's (grandmother's) house where a kid could be a kid and act like Tom Sawyer-with-an-accent. Middle school in Venezuela, 8th grade to 11th grade in Rome (Italy) (ciao Piero & Renzo...), a frighteningly numbing HS senior year in Darien (Connecticut), escaped back to Paris (France) for 2 years of university and studied music with Alan Silva, moved to Texas & served 2 years at T.C.U where I was music major and finished up at U.N.T. (Percussion performance). Both parents "not from 'round these parts": they started off "un-natural" then became naturalized USA citizens...lucky me, huh? Speak 4 languages but don't like Newspeak. Ping-pong, anyone? If you really dig Kenny G or other purveyors of such nonsense, please back away slowly and don't make any sudden moves. I like to run and play chess but not at the same time.

LONVIEW, CONRAD (TEXAS), FESTIVALS, C+W, BIKERS, BACKLINE DRUMSETS, AND BBQ

There's nothing quite like going on a weekend road trip with a C+W singer/band. Of course, there's nothing like music either, so go figure...Nothin' says "you're in Longview Texas with a pick-up C+W...
