Ami Sioux has been a photographer primarily for the last 12 years. She picked up a steel string guitar in the spring of 2004 while she was living in Berlin and started playing. Many months of her hands finding chords led to the first songs, and the first tape recordings made, mostly with major strumming emphasis and pounding techniques. These tapes have been placed in the archive to be opened at an undiscerned date.
After encouragement from many of her friends and family who aided by pointing her untrained fingers toward some actually previously known chords but also bearing the early painful attempts at making songs, in December of 2005, the first real song was born, entitled Lowly Levelin´.
The first release of these songs was released this June entitled "To Take You Down", written and composed 2005-06 in Berlin and Paris.
The album lives at http://www.totakeyoudown.amisioux.com where you can hear the entire album and see lyrics and such.
