I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!
~Shel Silverstein
Step inside the mind of a writer.
For the longest time, I've tried to use this space to express how I see the world. Recently, that isn't working for me. Probably because I feel like I was taking myself way too damned seriously, and maybe I just need to laugh.
I'm a writer. Because of that, I look at the world in a slightly skewed, but completely fucked up fashion. I am totally fascinated by you, and if you aren't careful, you won't end up in my novel. I love my characters - they are my friends, my loves, my doorway to that dimension that is, in some ways, more real than this one.
If that hasn't scared you off, then jump on in and embrace the insanity.
I write. I'm always writing, and most of the people out there don't really get what that means. And I'm cool with that. Why? Because I still love to talk TV and movies and books and politics and other dumb shit. I love sports, and even more, I know what I'm talking about when I'm watching. (If you're curious, it's basketball, football, baseball, gymnastics, and hockey.) I'm fiercely loyal to my teams, to my TV shows, to my actors, to my authors, and oh so much to my music. Outside of writing, there is nothing more important to me than music.
Music is the God we seek ...
So, If you love writing, books, music, fantastic conversation, good television, pop culture, politics, song lyrics, and of course, bonding over the daily grumblings of life, please step inside. If you need a hug when things are difficult, if you need to laugh and giggle, if you need to gush - and if you prepare to give this in return, then please, of course, step inside.
Welcome.

My Own Material:
Like I said up there ... I am a writer, and looking toward a future of being a published one. All my fanfiction can be found at www.geocities.com/vegawriters. The site hosts my own West Wing and CSI fan fiction - including some crossovers that include the worlds of Without a Trace and X-Men. Giving credit where credit is due, Broken Angel is my writing partner for two of the story lines. The site also contains essays regarding the TV world, as well as reviews about shows and seasons. By the new year, I will be staring to host fic from other writers as well. For information about original works in progress, please visit crossingthegate.livejournal.com and also request to be added there. At this blog, I frequently post essays, freewrites, and updates about works in progress.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you stay a while.

Welcome to Austin, Texas. Austin in a parallel universe. In this Austin, there lives and works a world famous band known as Time Machine. Time Machine is a metal/progressive band who sticks through the hair metal days of the 80's through the 90's, and continues strong even into this decade. They've had some bumps along the road - most notably the loss of their lead guitar player, Jared West, in 1990 to complications of HIV/AIDS. Twelve years later, the same disease stole their lead singer. Yet, through this, Time Machine has survived and continues to make solid rock music that makes people think.
This is their story.
Time Machine is:
Phil West (Lead Vocals, Guitar; 2002-present)*
Mike Wilson (Guitar, Strings, Backing Vocal; 1988-present)
Tony Gadling (Bass, Piano/Keyboard, Backing Vocal; 1981-present)
Jason Matthews (Drums/Percussion; 1981-present, Producer; 1988-present)
Marc Gadling (Lead Vocals, Guitar; 1981-2002)
Jared West (Guitar, Backing Vocals, Producer; 1981-1990)
*Creative credit for Phil West belongs to Eirian Philips.

Heroes:

Define Hero. There are people I look up to. There are those who are true Heroes, those who die selflessly.

I look up to the men and women who have paved the way into a better future and those who have taught us to speak their minds.

Try this: Five people I'd invite to dinner: My mother, Aaron Sorkin, The Last Priestess of Avalon, Mother Theresa, and Carl Sagan.
