alright!!! im Mc Cashback, originally from Norwich i moved down to Brighton a while ago and ended up staying. scince then i have been making music of various styles, i never like to stick to one genre, i find that very boring!!! i have been writing lyrics and experimenting with music scince i can remember, whether it was playing my saxophone or messing around with cassette players and microphones. Most recently i have been putting the finishing touches to my first album, i suppose it is a concept album it runs as a story about a bad day, including mundane events such as buying a sandwich, calling a plumber, getting locked out and a visit from the bailiffs to name just a few. i feel as well as producing a professional sounding album i want to keep an element of light heartedness in the songs, which reflects mine and probably alot of other peoples lives!!! I know my music is not groundbreaking in any way, but if i can put a smile on just one listeners face then i feel i have achieved what i set out to do (not to sound to cheesey!!!) i love to play live and try to involve the audience as much as possible. acts/bands i have supported include, metronomy, plan b, goldie lookin chain, chas n dave, just jack, mc larrs, aesop rock, fatboy slim, floors and walls and restlesslist. Thanks to Huw stephens i have also had some of my songs/tracks played on radio 1, and was booked to play his introducing night at the social in london. Thanks for taking the time to read this, i hope you like my music and find you can relate to it, if not....sorry i was ever born!!!...... "After a swift visit to the bar the next act MC Cashback was up: a one man GLC, whose biche we decided was definitely Chav Rap. His show consisted of him just rapping to a backing track, which he had to tell the sound guy to shut off at one point when a one punter had blown chunks all over the floor just in front of where he was standing. All in all it was pretty good stuff and very entertaining, especially for a warm up." review from the aesop rock gig at komedia in brightonVISIT
