Profile GeneratorDJ HAZE BIOGRAPHY:
I first got a taste for dance music growing up in Colchester. Aged thirteen I would go to the local record shop to purchase tapes from underground raves that had the Essex countryside jumping in the early nineties.
Inspired by the likes of Fabio Grooverider, carl cox slipmatt and lime, topbuzz, and Ltj Bukem and the burgeoning sound of jungle techno, I got my first set of decks in 1995. As the jungle drum n bass scene kicked into full gear I then began to develop my mixing style, and in late 95 a meeting with two local producers Danny c and Mike pears who were promoting nights in Colchester resulted in my first club debut. Around this time I began working in the local record shop where I basicly spent every waking hour talking listening and mixing jungle oh happy days. But unfortunately the manager was more interested in partying and getting it up his beak rather than paying the distributors so the shop eventually went under.
Soon after this I decided I had to move to London, as all I wanted was to be as close to jungle music as I could and was in regular attendance at clubs such as speed, metalheadz and pm scientists to name a few. The vibe I got from going to these clubss was just unreal listening to djs Like docscott Fabio dj lee peshay kemistry & storm bukem rider and Randall play has had a lasting effect on me and has continued to inspire me as a dj and a producer. From going to metalheadz I became friendly with a chef who worked in the blue note kitchen and was about to start putting a night on at the blue note called the Wednesday sessions. From playing here one of my sets caught the ear of a visiting German promoter who then started booking me regularly to play at events in Germany at clubs icon, wmf (Berlin) and cubic (Hamburg).
In 1998 I became involved with the sewerside collective. Who were running hip hop and drum n bass parties parties in the West Country, appearing alongside the likes of skitz, Rodney p,roots manuva and dj die at events as diverse as a condemned holiday camp to Glastonbury 2000.playing at the sewerside parties are without a dout the best parties I have had the pleasure of appearing at pure bonkers warehouse illegal raves with a crowd of ravers who would lap up anything I chucked at them wkd vibes big up to Tim n mark get back on it lads! Over the the last few of years I have held down a lengthy residency on Londons rude fm 88.2 as well as being knowledge magazines resident dj.currently I have been concentrating more on production and work with an old friend mike pears a wkd producer in his own right.
Keep your eyes peeled and you ears open for a forthcoming release from us on Fabios creative source label And hopefully lots more beside
