There is no part you can buy for your cruiser, sportbike or ground-up bike that will change it's lines and style so much as the tank. Read below to find out why we feel we make the best solution available to really make your bike unique.
As a result of market pressures, 99% of tank makers have turned to stamping out tanks as a way to produce many tanks fast and at a low cost. While we admit that stamped tanks have their place on production bikes the process is limited to gentle curves and because of retail realities they cannot produce any tanks that don’t have “mass appeal”. At Vision we have gone 180 degrees in the opposite direction. We hand make every single tank so that we can address each customers specific needs.
All our tanks start as 16 to 20 gauge cold rolled sheet metal and are hand worked, all seams are TIG or Oxy/Acetylene welded for maximum weld penetration. We pressure test every tank before it leaves our shop and then follow with a clear coat to show the customer exactly what they’re getting. Every tank carries a lifetime warantee against defects by Vision.
Vision Team- Our tanks are all hand crafted by guys who can make sheet metal do things many so called pro-shops tell us is “impossible”. We view each tank as a sculpture in sheet metal and will re-work any tank that doesn't meet our standards. We love to take on the most radical design challenges for a price the average biker can afford.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT:
Fittment- Our wide, deep tunnels and exclusive “hollow tail” design allows our tanks to fit on a wide variety of aftermarket frame styles and lengths with minimal fabrication work. Of course we can also make any of our tanks to your specific reqirements.
Crossovers- Our low profile crossovers can even be placed to hide in the tunnel for a cleaner look.
Mounting- Recessed rubber mount points are standard on every Vision tank for a clean look and simple, electrically isolated tank installation.
Venting- In situations were a vented cap is not an option we can install vent ports with NPT fittings to allow compliance with local smog laws and keep your tank from building up dangerous pressures.
Finish- To protect the metal surface from oxidation we apply a standard lacquer coat, upgrades to “ready to paint” or mirror polish are just $100.
Sealing- To protect the inside metal surface from oxidation all tanks should be sealed with a 2 part epoxy automotive grade tank sealer. We can preform this for you for just $100.
Petcock- Unless specified otherwise we use standard 22mm petcock bung fittings in the right rear of most tanks. We can substitute a 3/8 NPT fitting or relocate the petcock bung to fit your bike at your request.
Cap- We include a free standard gas cap bung with all our tanks that can be upgraded as you see fit.
Your Hardware- If you have specific hardware requirements, please contact us before purchase and in most cases we can install it free.
