Hi, I'm Monique van Balen. But, you have to note, the van in my name is spelt with a LOWER case 'v'... not a capital... that's just wrong. so... dont do it!
anyway... I'm a swimming freak (according to Jess... who is the awesome author of this biography thing)... and i swim about 25 times a week, which means i am mighty fit and have no time for socialising with my awesome friend who goes by the name of Jess (but i manage to do a bit...). I go to youth groups on fridays (when i can make it), and on sundays i go to church in the mornings and/or evenings when i can make it... (everything's only when i can make it... I'm busy! you have to make an appointment to speak to me! =P). I also work with this awesome girl named Jess... we work at Gloria Jeans up at Newington, if you ever want to visit me... i generally work from 2.30-close on sunday arvos, and saturdays some time...
what else? um... i have a 'little' brother benn (NB: the double 'n'. NO, it's NOT a typo... i make them, but then i correct thenm.) Oh yeah... i've lived in Perth (born and bread aussie swimming star), then moved to Canberra (pronounced can-berrrrrrrrr-a), then onto Rhode Island, I went over there cause of dad's job in the navy... and i got to go to a PROM!! haha.. no, i wasn't prom queen, but pretty close, if i had been in the right year! nevermind, there's always next time i go to school in america... (not likely to be soon! well, unless i get a scholarship to some american swimming school.) I then moved back to Sydney (pronounced SYD-en-eeeee) and met the awesome girl writing this... aka. Jess.
Oh yeah.. i forgot to add, monique qualified for the Olympic trials for the 2000 games in Australia when she was only 14!!! GET THAT! 14 YEARS OLD AND QUALIFYING FOR THE QUALIFIYING SWIMS FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES! how awesome! i always tell her she's gonna be famous... :). She's giving me a big dirty at the moment, so i'd better stop there.
She's not very loud.. you jsut have to say things that she disagrees with... THEN she'll talk... Alistair's good at that. :)
