My Interests

Traveling outside of my comfort zone, trying new things (although I recently realized I am NOT invincible...weird), feminism, the destruction of corporate bastards, fair trade and the equitable production of other goods worldwide, backpacking, foreign languages, weird music nobody has ever heard of, becoming a gypsy one day...

I'd like to meet:

Your Hidden Talent
You have the natural talent of rocking the boat, thwarting the system.
And while this may not seem big, it can be.
It's people like you who serve as the catalysts to major cultural changes.
You're just a bit behind the scenes, so no one really notices. What's Your Hidden Talent?
You Are Guinness
You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world.
Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them.
When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well.
But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around. What's Your Beer Personality?

Music:

Let's see..the Mountain Goats, the Postal Service, Mates of State, Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, The Shins, Tilly and the Wall, Death Cab for Cutie, Ween, Her Space Holiday, A Perfect Circle, Modest Mouse, Ani DiFranco, Tracy Chapman, Ozomatli, CocoRosie, Arctic Monkeys, Ely Guerra..

Movies:

Mostly indie and foreign stuff...Ma Vie en Rose, The Edukators, But I'm a Cheerleader, Aimee and Jaguar, You and Me and Everyone We Know, Latter Days, Fingersmith, just to name a few

Television:

Boo for the idiot box! No seriously, I really think the tv has an uncanny ability to zap conversation out of any room... Sometimes it's a good mind-numbing activity, but enough mind-numbing is going on in the world (duh, why do you think Bush got re-elected?) why add to it?

Books:

I definitely read too much...my new favorite books are: The Red Tent, The Kite Runner, anything by Paulo Coelho and Isabel Allende (The Alchemist and House of the Spirits are the best), The Well of Loneliness, The Poisonwood Bible (or anything by Barbara Kingsolver), Tipping the Velvet --fucking awesome book and movie.

Learning From the Past

Deja vu...I decided to ride my skateboard to class today in spite of the fact that I haven't really ridden it all summer. Needless to say, here I am in the computer lab with a wet paper towel dabbing ...

Sunflower Seeds and Severed Fingers

On this lovely Tuesday of my life, July 10 2007, I can't help but note the bruise colored bags below my eyes, nor can I ignore the bright red veins trying to squeeze out of my left eye....

Empty pockets and Beggar Blokes

Now, I don't have money pouring out of my ears, but i get by...every now and then I can even afford to buy a new cd or something (even though there's always money for liquor..) But every time I get of...

Ice crystals and Emotion

I've been having very bizarre dreams lately..more bizarre than usual even. I remember learning in a psychology class once that the more dull your day to day life is, the more your imagination lets loo...
