When Amanda was four years old she had her first opportunity to perform at “The Burleson Jamboree.†By the age of five, Amanda had already begun taking guitar lessons. With the lessons, Amanda’s excitement for music and songwriting grew. She auditioned and performed for “Johnny High's Country Music Revue†at age seven with an original song “When I Was A Kidâ€. At the age of eleven, Amanda performed for the “Southlake Town Center Art in the Square†festival. After these performances, Amanda realized music had to be her career. So being on stage was one of her first musical ventures. She was a part of choir in church and at school. Amanda auditioned and performed at her schools talent shows and musicals every year. She also auditioned and performed in “Annie†at the “Bass Hall†with Casa Manana. At the age of 14 Amanda began recording her first EP consisting of original songs. This opportunity started to teach Amanda the recording and producing process at a young age. During the recording of her EP “Just Meâ€, Amanda became a featured artist on Dish Network's national music channel YMCTV (Your Music Channel Television). After graduating from high school a year early in May of 2007, Amanda decided to expand her music to Sydney, Australia. Heading down under in late July, Amanda was overwhelmed with excitement to play shows, record and experience the Australian culture. During this time Amanda had the pleasure of working with award winning songwriters and producers including Michael Szumowski, Sven Tydeman, and Andrew Macken. After wrapping up six months in Australia, Amanda was ready to head back to the states. Upon arriving in America, Amanda was given the opportunity to have her song “Are You There?†placed on MTV’s “The Hillsâ€. "Are You There" was placed on the premiere episode, "Paris Changes Everything". This episode had the most viewers in the history of the show, 4.7 million. Amanda recently attended the ASCAP “I Create Music Expo†and the "ASCAP Pop Music Awards" in Los Angeles, CA. Amanda had the pleasure of walking the red carpet with some of the biggest names in music that night at the Kodak Theatre. Amanda was also hired to write the theme song for "The Good Life", a new reality show set to air on NBC next year. Over the past eight months Amanda has also taken up piano to continue exploring her songwriting options. Amanda just recently finished her newest EP, "Escaping Australia" in which all of the songs were written or co-written by Amanda. Steve Rokks produced this EP and it has turned into something quite amazing. Just recently Amanda was taken on as an official artist of Breedlove Guitars (www.breedloveguitars.com). Amanda has been playing a Breedlove for many years now and is completely in love with them. She could not be happier to now be apart of the Breedlove family. At the end of 2008, Amanda was asked to be a part of a high defintion video shoot called "Raw Session". She was able to choose one top 10 hit to cover, so she chose "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga. The video has now had over 24,000 views on YouTube and is also available on iTunes. With the goal to make 2009 a great year, Amanda found out that her song "Just Me" was the opening song on an hour long MTV special, "The Hills : The Lost Scenes". Many new opportunities continue present themselves in Amanda's career and she is just working hard and enjoying every moment of it!
