This is an unofficial Pointed Sticks myspace.
Nick Jones is not reading the shit you send. Sorry.
The Pointed sticks were named after a line in a Monty Python skit titled "Self-Defense against Fresh fruit". They were brought together in 1978 (completely, that is) in Vancouver, British Columbia. Winning a Battle of the bands, the pointed sticks went on to be the first Canadian band signed on with 'Stiff records in the Uk'. This helped audiences scattered about the US recognize and appreciate and/or adore them. It appeared, though, that the base of their fans were located in L.A. Sadly, they broke up in 1981 with Gord Nicoll (their Keyboardist) and Ken "Dimwit" Montgomery (drummer) moving on to two seperate bands. Dimwit later died of a drug overdose.
Something else the pointed sticks had once done, was they made a short
appearance in the US/Canadian cult film "Out of the Blue".
The Bands material was re-issued on CD in 1995 by Zulu Records.
All original material was performed by this band with a new-wave rock feel. Pointed Sticks with two singles to their credit had considerable airplay on C-FOX FM in Vancouver and on stations in San Francisco, Los Angeles and even London and throughout Europe.
