I was born Jane Alice Peters on October 6, 1908, in Fort Wayne , Indiana. My parents divorced and I moved to California with my mother and two brothers. I dropped out of school when I was 15 to pursue a career in acting. I got small roles in movies like My Best Girl and Campus Vamp. In 1926 I was in an awful car accident that scarred my face. After plastic surgury I was able to continue my acting. I signed a contract with Paramount in 1930. I married William Powell, but the marriage ended 1933, we still remain dear friends. I began dating a wonderful man,Russ Columbo and we planned to get married but he was shot on September 2, 1934. The 30's was a graet decade for me I starred in numerous hit movies some include, Nothing Sacred, Twentieth Century, and In Name Only. I was the highest paid actress in hollywood at that time. I was given the nickname "The Profane Angel" Because I love telling dirty jokes. in 1936 me and my ex-husband reunited in he acadamy nominated movie My Man Godfrey. In 1939 I was married to Clark Gable. We tried to have a baby but I was ubable to conceive. By 1942 America was involved with World War II, and I went on a trip to sell bonds. On January 16, 1942 I was flying home to when my plane crashed in Nevada. Everyone on the plane dies including me and my mother I was only 33.
