I am here for Friends

About Me

Hello,I am Jennifer or as my freinds call me Jenn. I am a happily married mother of 4 trying but great kids. I am also a student in a seemingly never ending presuit of a nursing degree ...... go figure, if I stopped having kids I might get there before I die. I grew up all over being a Navy brat, but spent my teen years between Pt. Mugu and Oxnard, California. I attended both Oxnard and CI high Schools. Currently I live in an itty bitty city in Wyoming called Evanston. If you have ever seen the movie Salt Lake City Punk ..... it is the town they make the beer run to on sunday. It is a provincial life here, but a small town has an up side too. ......... like 3 cars at a stop light is heavy traffic. And if you forget your check book they let you take your groceries home before returning to pay the bill. It's also a generally safe place to raise kids. On the down side ..... Everyone knows your business, or at least they think they do. Personally, I find fun in starting a rumor about myself and seeing how it developes.I love being a mom and a wife. I found the man of my dreams in the kitchen of a local restaraunt ........ found out 5 minutes later from a waitress he was 9 years younger then me, proceeded to TRY put him out of my mind and decided to aviod him cause I was to old for him and knew that would make a fool of myself if I even accidentally hinted how I felt. Found out 3 months later in his sweet confession that for him our meeting was the same and he was crushed to learn of my age and thought I would have nothing to do with him.............. that was 4 and a half years ago and we have not left each other side since. We have been married for almost 3 years and have expanded our family. Robert and I had our first biological child together in August of 2005. She is and absolute angel and has rounded off our some what large family perfectly. He works on the drilling rigs here in Wyoming ....... as some of you might know this is one of the top 3 most dangerous jobs in the world. He is a hard working man, he is good at what he does and his family loves and admires him for it. I never in my life thought it possible that one man could be so loving, compassionate as well as passionate, and devoted as Robert is towards me. I am truely blessed and I refuse to take it for granted.Other then school my full time job is my family and home. For now I am very happy with that. Raising good hearted and productive people as a first carreer seems pretty good to me.I have a 15 year old son that is a good student and very atheltic. His is very much the ham and can usually get a laugh out of just about anyone no matter what the mood. He is a very dedicated brother to his sisters and is generally a very loving son. At times he is teaches me why my father started going gray and yelled all the time when I became a teenager. Although here lately I think I heard the distict popping noise of his head coming out of his ass and he has been trying much harder to have good communication and pay more attention to school. Hopefully it will be a while before he shoves it back up there as is in the nature of a child trying to become an adult and I am sure the adventure will only become more interesting when he starts dating. My 12 year old girl is obsessed with success. She started the school year in the 5th grade, skipped to the 6th grade mid year and finished the year with straight A's bringing home 2 medals of achademic achievement in science and social studies. She plays the violin and clarinet, and had a part in the school musical. She has chosen this for herself and I actually avoid asking how school is going for concern that she might feel pressured to do more! My concern for her is that she will be so success driven that her relationships will suffer and I try to find ways to discuss this with her with out discouraging her. Then there is my 9 year old girl. She is also a VERY good student but has a much more light hearted aproach to things. She plays the celo and is concidered to be very talented for her age. She collects rocks and tiny animal figurines. She knows more about plants then most adults. When she was 5 she brought me a branch off a tree the size of a small tree and told me to put it in a glass of water so it would grow roots! She is a big girl for her age and is actully taller then her older sister. I think this makes her feel a bit awkward at times. But over all she is extreamly loving and usually has a smile on.Last but not least coming in 8 years later then her next older sibling is our baby girl. She keeps me hopping and it is much different this time round trying to care for a baby's needs AND meet the needs of older children and all their activities. She is a good sport about it all and watches her siblings very closely! She loves listening to her sisters play there instruments and rough housing with her brother. She dances to ANY thing that resembles music, and is trying very hard to form articulate speach from the current "tazmainian" language she speaks. She has truely given our family a gift, with her innocent smile and loving hugs and kisses, as she melts all our hearts. For me personal she has renewed my patience with the older children as she so much reminds me of each of them when they were babies and that they are still all my babies.Over all I could not ask for more out of family life. Things are going pretty good. Things are pretty good on a personal level as well. I am a recovering alcoholic and I am learning more and more about myself each day. I am also learning to live each day well and to observe the little miricles that each day brings. Most importantly, humor is a spice of life that makes EVERYTHING more palitable!
