About Me

Here are some of my quotes. Once I'm famous they'll be in a book with my name next to them:
What seems to be a problem is always just a solution waiting to happen.
There is nothing as maddening as a blank canvas.
Everything you see and feel is but a tiny part of reality. At any moment you are surrounded by radio waves. Where do you think the music on the radio comes from? This is an aspect of reality that we have learned to control, but we still can't see or feel. There are many more that we do not even realize exist. With our limited understanding we can produce wonders. Science has an led us to a pinnacle of civilization, but it won't be until we re-examine some of the fundamental assumptions that a real breakthrough will be made.
There has never been a sane artist. The infinite possibilities and endless pursuit of perfection will remove any shreds of sanity from a person long before they can truly call themselves an artist.
To think that the true beauty of the world could ever be reproduced is crazy, but I'm totally insane, so I try to out-do reality.
I wish there were 100 minutes in an hour and 28 hours in a day.
I'm going to turn this place into a true democracy. I'm going to run as our nation's last president... I'll just need all the money you and me and everyone we know are going to make over the next 10 years. Thanks.
Fate has always put me where I'm supposed to be.
Since you can't know it all, know yourself.

Your theory is crazy--but not crazy enough to be true.
-Niels Bohr (Super-Physicist)
They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.
-Andy Warhol
Truth's naked radience,
Cut off from the sense and the world,
Shines by itself.
No words for it.
- Pai-chang (720-814)
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Following the Noble Path is like entering a dark room with a light in the hand; the darkness will all be cleared away, and the room will be filled with light.
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.

Music:

I like all different kinds of music, but some songs are always better than others in every type of music and different people have different tastes. I'm pretty open to anything. I've listened to a crazy range of music over the years from to classic rock to metal to hardcore gangsta rap to punk/ska to hippie music to electronic to reggae with lots of stops in between. I would say these days I listen to mostly old school ska and reggae like toots, burning spear, mighty diamonds, heptones and the meditations though I am still partial to ambient electronic and down tempo drum and bass, like Aphex twin, The Orb and K&D. I like lots of chill reggae dub like Augustus Pablo and Lee Perry. I like some hardcore, but the screaming tends to get to me. I like jam bands and love going to live shows of most types. I also like positive hip hop like J5 and Dilated Peoples. I admit I like some radio pop "club" music, I just hate how its so comercial and how the song of the minute is on every station 50 times a day.

I play a bunch of instruments. I wish i had more time and the lack of a.d.d. to concentrate on one. I know a good bit about music theory and can apply it on a bunch of instruments. My favorites are: guitar, melodica, (a mouth piano sounds like a harmonica) and hand drums like a djembe. I also beatbox. I don't know many "real" songs, I just know how the notes and chords relate to each other and kind of make up my own songs. I think its much more creative to make your own music than to simply copy someone else. I like to play with others in a jamish setting. If you know of any good drum circles let me know.

Movies:

I love watching movies. I definitely think that they are an art form all their own. I have seen tons of movies and liked many of them for different reasons. I consider myself to be somewhat of a critic and I look at things within the movies such as composition that most people don't notice. There are too many good movies out there to even try to make a list. I'm pretty open to anything so I'll probably like whatever it is I see for some reason or another. Technicolor rules. The colors are so bright.

Books:

I don't read as much as I would like to, there’s never enough time to go around. I tend to read non-fiction books on a wide range of technical or philosophical subjects. Who wants to live in a pretend world, when there is so much to know about the world around us?

Heroes:

True Zen Masters, Thomas Edison, Leonardo Da Vinci, Salvador Dali, Rahzel, Bob Marley, Cheech, Jon Stewart, Abbie Hoffman
