Books, mostly. I read for entertainment, not necessarily enlightenment, so it's usually crap novels, but every once in a while I'll feel the need to be smart. Other than that, travel. Road trips, in particular. I love to be in the car. I like.......terribly droll "is this all there is" conversations in hammocks, palm trees, Cracker Barrell, anything made of wheat substitute, british chick lit, ridiculous informercials, men taller than me, women with insecurities, cemetaries, ghost stories, dogs, cats, etc, small furry things, books, church tourism, breakfast, cheap shoes, cheap purses, zit-free days, cheese on nearly everything, tea, indian food....especially indian food, unpretentious people, people who DON'T ask me if I play basketball, old folks with stories to tell, wackos who corner me and tell me their drama, my family, snow falling under streetlights, severe rainstorms that wash the dirt off of everything and pile it up someplace else, urban jungles, laughing until it hurts, or someone snorts, being instantly at ease with new people, feeling like I'm part of the world at large, people who are aware of their inconsequentiality (sp?word, even?), nice people, the rustle of leaves in the summer before rain, the crunch of leaves in the fall, and the silence of driving alone on a snowy night when no one else is dumb enough to be on the road.

Folks who don't bring drama into my life.
Well, I love the classic stuff of my youth....all the Type O Negative, Rammstein, NIN, KMFDM and what have you. And I still own the CDs and love them....but they're no longer relevant to my life. I listen to them now because they bring back awesome memories, but they remind me of at time when I felt like that on a consistent basis. All of the music that I listen to that's not on Sirius has been mixed CD's of late, because I just got a computer that can do that. So now, I listen to, in addition to Sirius, the condensed forms of all of the CD's I own, which span the musical spectrum from Louis Armstrong to ZZTop. Seems like lately, all the rock that's coming out hasn't been agreeing with me, in the same way that burritos don't agree with some people. But sometimes, I still feel the way I used to, frustrated and angry and hopeless, and thats when I get the urge for the stuff I used to listen to, but for the most part now, it's Country. One day, I was in the south, and I turned the Sirius to the country stations to see what the deal was, laughed my ass off, and haven't taken it off the preset since. It's terrible. I know. But I figure you listen to the music you do because it works with your mood. Music is supposed to speak to you, and if it doesn't speak to you, doesn't describe your way of life and your feelings, what's the point?
Er...I haven't the patience required for television...plus I can never remember when anything's on. So I just don't watch television....but outside of that, it's just a flashing box to me.
Books make me happy...I'll read almost anything.
