“It would be interesting to have band members from different parts of the Earth." Says singer/songwriter Aishah Jennett. The search was on to find an eclectic group of individuals that would complete the vision that is, Jewel in the Lotus. Be it luck, karma or destiny, the band members fell into place after six months of posting ads, flyers, auditions, and interviews. They are: RJ Buchanon, Adam Carignan, Mario Pagliarulo and Martin St. Pierre. The name of the band evolved from a Buddhist mantra – Omani Padme Hum, which teaches compassion and that all suffering is a gift from the universe in order to complete our karmic lessons. Easier said than done! But the same could be said about being in a new rock band in Los Angeles. “Things happen because sometimes they're supposed to happen. It's been said that in our universe, all things are in divine order. But, in the manifestation process, it's required that we follow through with action, in order to get what we want." explains Aishah. Jewel in the Lotus just completed recording their debut album under the influence of rock giants Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Incubus.
