I was skeptical about this until I saw what was going on in those forums. I thought that it wouldn't hurt to try, the minimum you can do is open an account at:

and open an Infone account. You get a free trial of the service and after the trial you won't get charged if you choose not to use it. You can also sign up for AOL with 55 free hours and cancel it if you're not satisfied or even sign up for the GM Card for free. Anyways click on the link above link and create an Infone, AOL, or GM Card account. Once you get 5 people to do so (plus yourself) you get you're iPod sent to you (again the proof in the pics)
There are other offers besides eBay, but eBay seems the most simple and inexpensive one. Others you can sign up and cancel it later if you're not satisfied (AOL for example). If the eBay offer is down, then just select any other offer that you like, and cancel it when the confirmation comes in (if you're not satisfied).
