Dance Profile Jill Anne Roy-AdebahrIf there is anyone in the House of Dance whose energy level is unbeatable, it has to be Jill. Imagine landing a place in the top three in the Sports Tourism's aerobic marathon, advanced and professional category respectively, for two consecutive years - 2003 and 2004. These marathons are 2 and 3-hour runs, and by golly, that's a long time to be in motion! But Jill is JilL.. .forever on the go, either training in aero-sports, gymnastics; or simply dancing or teaching jazz and aerobics at Fitness First and the House of Dance.Jill hails from Camarines Sur. She was a scholar at the Philippine High School for the Arts at Mt. Makiling, Los Banos, Laguna and holds a Bachelor of Science major in Tourism degree from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. As a student, Jill has received several scholarship awards and was given by UP an Achiever's Award for students in 2004.In August 1997, Jill was a delegate to the Folklore and Folk Game Festival held in Taiwan. As a cheerleader, she was also part of the first Philippine delegation to the 14th Asian Games in Busan, South Korea in 2002. In 2003, Jill brought honor to the country by winning the Bronze medal in the mixed pair category in the Sports Aerobics Gymnastics competition of the 22nd Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2004, Jill performed as a dancer-fairy in Metropolitan Theater Guild's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" production. This year, she was selected as one of Nike's Top Ten Fitness Women in the country as a fitness teacher with Fitness First. She is also a member of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, the Philippine International Competitive Aerobics Federation, and the UP PEP Squad.Her jazz and modern dance (neo-Pinoy) training were under several mentors including Victor Emmanuel Flor and Van Manalo. She was a member of the famed UP Filipiniana Dance Group from 1998-2001 with Corazon Inigo. Her cheer dance training was under Lalaine Juarez Perena; and, in aero sports and gymnastics, she trained under Sami Yaskola of Finland and Curzio Buffaci from Italy. She was part of the House of Dance team that went to Nagoya, Japan for further jazz dance training in December 2004. .She is currently based in Australia.
