Americult

Another effigy to set ablaze

About Me

Rising from the heart of San Antonio is a new band that pushes the envelope in Metal as we know it. Thought provoking lyrics and intricate guitar riffs are combined with powerful basslines and an unorthodox drumming style to create the relentlessly punishing sound of Americult. In the span of four years, Americult have strategically infected San Antonio and its surrounding cities. In 2004, the band recorded their first three track demo with the help of David Elizondo of Republic Studios (At All Cost). The San Antonio and Corpus Christi scenes had soon taken notice. By early 2005, Americult were constantly invited to jump on board with some of San Antonio’s elite and were also asked to take part of Fiestapalooza which featured some of Texas’ best. Soon after, Americult’s track “Sell Down the River” appeared on Matt Bachand’s (of Shadows Fall fame) Treasury of Sorrows compilation that included some of music’s juggernauts: Mark Hunter (Chimaira), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) and Trivium. Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any better... they did. In August of 2005, Americult’s “Sell Down the River” was again a focal point. This time the track was aired on 102.7 K-ROCK’s “Mandatory Metal” show, along with some of Metal’s biggest names. 2006 was a new beginning for Americult as they went back into the studio with Kevin Talley’s (ex-Chimaira, ex-Dying Fetus) Counterstrike Records. With the assistance of the esteemed engineer Orlando Villasenor, Americult recored their five track EP from which the song “Callosity” is played frequently and requested on San Antonio’s own KSYM (90.1 FM).Chaotic and unpredictable can best describe Americult’s live performance. They use the stage as a canvas to create an image of erratic behavior and emotional turmoil that suits their intense music and brings to life the inner demons we face daily. Earning the respect of their peers through their shear brutality on stage has given Americult the chance to open up for a variety of established acts such as: LOSA (Metal Blade), Bleed The Sky (Nuclear Blast), Silent Civilian (Mediaskare), In This Moment (Century Media), Ankla (Bieler Bros.), (Hed) P.E. (Koch), Powerman 5000 (DRT), and many others. With the world at their fingertips, Americult have the potential to tread where very few San Antonio bands have dared to go. Their pure passion and disregard for current trends allow them to stand out from the rest. All in all, their brutal, heart-wrenching live performances, strong work ethic and undeniable talent will enable them to exceed all expectations.AMERICULT STREET TEAM
