Welcome to Festival Distribution, a company dedicated to marketing independently produced recordings. As you'll see, our roster includes releases by many independent musicians, from artists beginning their careers to veteran performers with extensive catalogues and near legendary status. We also bring you exciting labels, whose owners have a passion for the music they produce. And we give all these artists access to the marketplace and control over their own work.FDI began in 1980 as a project of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Since then, and particularly in the past decade, we have seen the quality of music produced by artist-owned labels match or surpass anything produced anywhere in the world. Retailers have been encouraging and supporting the growth of independent music, and we have grown and changed too. We are now an independent Canadian-owned company with sales representatives serving retailers from coast to coast. And we are proud to distribute some of the planet's finest examples of independent music in many different musical genres.The members of the Festival Distribution staff have long been active in many aspects of the Canadian music industry, some of us for more than two decades. From retail record stores to bluegrass, folk, jazz and women's festival organization, and from community and college radio to artist management. The bottom line is we love the music we distribute, and we are committed to getting it heard. Listen up!
