Criados en New York, Danny MejÃa y Steven Tejada se arraigaron entre la cultura urbana y la latina, sintiéndose motivados a combinar los ritmos románticos que escuchaban los latinos estadounidenses y las canciones de amor tradicionales de la madre patria de sus padres Republica Dominicana. Fusionando los sonidos tÃpicos de la bachata con el R&B contemporáneo el dúo comienza a evolucionar con un sonido y estilo único. XTREME se forma en 2003.
