For the past 21 years, Neutron Industries has been a mainstay in Phoenix-area business circles with its highly successful industrial-grade cleaning and maintenance products. Although the company has a very successful line of products today, it all started with one phone call.
As a young and hopeful field salesman in Los Angeles, Cary Zucker pounded the pavement back in 1978 introducing cleaning and maintenance supply products to businesses as potential customers. Among the products being demonstrated was, of course, the flagship product, NI-712 – orange-scented – Odor Eliminator. The products were excellent, the presentation was astonishing, but the quick phone call from a competitor's salesman was better. It was then that the thought occurred to Zucker that he could cover more ground, make more sales, and never leave his office. From this day, telephone sales would become the future direction the company would begin to build itself on.
Neutron opened its first office in 1978 in Cave Creek, Ariz., promoting only a few products and with a staff of merely eight people. Over the next eight years, the business grew steadily thereby requiring more space and a larger staff. By 1986, the company broke the ground to build a new facility in Phoenix that would soon be accompanied by an additional building just three years later. As the company kept growing, the product line continued to expand to new heights.
Today Neutron Industries is a very successful, privately held direct marketing company that employs an average of 200 local residents. The product line continues to expand and now has over 100 cleaning and maintenance supply items to introduce and maintain to businesses across the Unites States.
