About Me

I am currently a professional fighter trying to climb my way to the top of the Superheavy / Heavyweight rankings. I was with the Indianapolis Colts for a while, and then with the AFL's San Jose Sabrecats. I am married to a gorgeous girl named Jenifer, and just recently had my first child Riley Kai Richards. My main hobby is brazillian jiu jitsu/MMA in which I am a brown belt. I have wanted to fight in the cage since I first saw UFC 1. I have now had several fights and so far am doing well. I haven't made it out of the first round with a 8-1 record. 5 wins by KO/TKO, and 3 by submissions. I am looking to fight anyone, anywhere to get experience and gain exposure as a fighter.
"FORMER NFL PLAYERS HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CROSS OVER INTO MMA WITH MIXED REVIEWS. EX-KANSAS CITY CHIEF JONNIE MORTON WAS WELCOMED INTO THE SPORT BY GETTING KNOCKED OUT IN 38 SECONDS. IN THEIR PRO DEBUTS FORMER WASHINGTON REDSKIN MICHAEL WESTBROOK BEAT EX-NEW YORK GIANT JERROD BUNCH BACK IN 2005. WITHOUT A DOUBT THOUGH, FORMER INDIANAPOLIS COLT REX RICHARDS HAS HAD THE MOST SUCCESS IN MMA. RICHARDS IS 6-1 AND HAS EARNED VICTORIES IN STRIKEFORCE AND KING OF THE CAGE. HIS ONLY LOSS CAME AGAINST UFC HEAVYWEIGHT SHANE CARWIN. GUYS, AFTER PLAYING IN INDY, RICHARDS WALKED AWAY FROM A SUCCESSFUL CAREER WITH THE SAN JOSE SABRECATS OF THE ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE TO PURSUE MMA." - INSIDE MMA
