Zumba!!! Reading, writing, not arithmetic. Going out on the town, swimming and sunning, beveracating (that means drinking adult beverages), staying in and watching movies, nice weather for sitting outside at a cafe to people watch, playing with babies and little kids. I love my dogs (all 3 of them) even though they drive me crazy at times and I can't be as spontaneous as I would sometimes like. Needless to say- they get lot of smooches and I'm always singing silly songs to them- those pups are spoiled. Good friends, good conversations and good times. A porch full of plants. Meeting new people and seeing new places. Not a fan of: the sight of blood or needles, bad tippers, our current president, reality tv, sci-fi, scary movies (they usually are just way too creepy for me), or jokes -it's not hard to make me laugh, but jokes just rarely do and then I feel bad for not thinking you're funny. *There's been some discrepancy on the "not liking jokes" comment... Clarification: I like stand-up, I like Comedy Central, I like SNL, I like things that are funny. I do not like when someone says, "Wanna hear a joke- what's the difference between an Asian and a Jew?" Quite frankly, I don't care, it is probably not funny to me.
When I meet "the one"- I hope it goes like this:Celebrities: Jake Gyllenhaal (he's my Hollywood boyfriend and I love him- if you don't know that, you don't know me very well). Next on the list is Zach Braff. My other celebrity crushes include: Ryan Adams, Jimmy Fallon, John Mayer (I don't wanna hear it), Mark Ruffalo, Adam Duritz, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, John Krasinski and Zachary Levi.In real life: Mostly just someone who is fun and can keep me entertained (which really isn't too hard- I'm an easy audience). Someone I can totally be myself around. Not a fan of arrogant or ignorant people. A nice, genuine smile and a good sense of humor are my two favorite things. I appreciate the beauty of sarcasm. I get along best with people who are open-minded, intelligent, outgoing and easy to talk to. Oh, and bonus points for the boys who actually take girls on 'dates', no one seems to do that anymore.
I absolutely love music! There is a part of my brain that is strictly for storing song lyrics (I think it's the part where the math should be).
I could spend days listing bands I like so I'll spare you and just stick to my favorites: The Beatles, The Shins, Counting Crows, Postal Service, The Strokes, Van Morrison, Ben Folds Five, Iron and Wine, The Fray, Damien Rice, Ray Lamontagne, Snow Patrol, Ryan Adams, Paul Simon, Outkast, Gorillaz, Pixies, Cake, Blind Melon, Weezer, Tenacious D, Otis Redding, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Moby, Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Death Cab, Band of Horses, Flaming Lips, Clash, Cure, Killers, my boys in Swayze (some of the artists formerly known as Pulling Birds), Ok Go, Mates of State, The Weepies, Guster, Matt Costa, Joshua Radin, Gomez, any hip-hop with a dope beat to step to- cause I shoulda been a fly girl (S-Boogie in the hizzy). Basically, anything I think sounds good.
Garden State!!! Juno, Waiting for Guffman (and all the other Christopher Guest classics), Amelie, Almost Famous, Love Actually, The Goonies, The Princess Bride, Stand by Me, Good Will Hunting, Finding Neverland, Snatch, Old School, Empire Records, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Maria Full of Grace, Crash, Kill Bill (Vol. 1 and 2), Pulp Fiction, The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums, Forrest Gump, Big Fish, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dirty Dancing, Donnie Darko, The Boondock Saints, Lost in Translation, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Elizabethtown, Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady... the more I keep thinking the more I could list. I love musicals and any movie that has dancing in it (go ahead and laugh, it's good for you) and foreign films.
Flight of the Conchords!!! I have an addiction to Grey's Anatomy. Seriously? Seriously. Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money- aka: my Wed nights. Scrubs- I love Zach Braff! Arrested Development- I want it to come back- I miss the Bleuth's and the banana stand! Will and Grace, Sex and the City, Ellen, SNL (when it's good), Friends and Seinfeld. HGTV, Food Network and E! I miss pop-up video. I'm thinkin maybe I watch too much tv...
The Catcher in the Rye (my all time favorite), To Kill a Mockingbird, The Virgin Suicides, The Giving Tree, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Girl in the Flammable Skirt, The Glass Castle, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Lullaby and other Chuck Palahniuk. I heart David Sedaris! Nick Hornby is always fun and Dr Zeuss never goes out of style. I'm getting into Augusten Burroughs. There's nothing like losing yourself in a good book.
Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Holden Caulfield. Oh and those Gator boys who play in orange and blue. I also pretty much love Tina Fey and Chelsea Handler- if you don't think they're funny than you are lame.
