About Me

Finally the music on the media player has been updated, it's still several years old but they are newer recordings which sound better. They are still live with mistakes and all but you'll get the idea... With that said...onto the third person promotional crap...............Brian Richman has performed in several musical groups through his many years of playing (Elsewhere, Dorian Grey, Monster Island, Sex In Violets, Last Man Standing, Envy, The Approach) only to find himself finally branching out alone in search of the one thing he'd desired most, the passion and fulfillment found within his own music. Desiring always to create sounds to be enjoyed by any and all, he found ways to form his thoughts and emotions into impressions forged in music. Now, without constraint, he has set out to continue what he had begun many years ago...writing.Brian grew up in Southern New Jersey his entire life in a non-musical environment. He came across an old beat-up guitar with only one string and after trying to play it for hours he simply knew he needed one. The following year at the age of 13 his parents gave in to his pleadings and bought him a $40 guitar which was to be the foundation for his learning. Two years of lessons were enough to get him started on a long journey of exploration and musical discovery. His addiction to the musical bug overtook his very soul and everything else in his youth. He eventually found himself pursuing music full-time in one way or another regardless of consequence. Brian chose the life of a performing musician and had success on many different levels. The only thing holding him back from what he'd truly wanted was the music he'd been performing was not his own. The time needed to professionally pursue that career also took away from the creative side that was struggling to emerge. The time has finally come for him to embark on the venture of writing and performing his own music. That's not to say that he's abandoned his repertoire of covers from many of music's top artists. He now has the best of both worlds, playing choice cover selections as well as his original music which he blends together in solid performances. With influences from heavy metal and classic rock to blues, classical, and folk his songwriting has a technical edge intricately sewn into beautifully simplistic songs with catchy melodies. He is now in the process of recording his debut CD with several other musicians who are looking to capture the definitive sound that is his style.
