If you've just met me, hopefully you think I'm a likeable fellow human being who could engage you in a conversation and cared enough to ask a few questions about you.
If you've met me again, hopefully you recognized a sincere attempt on my part to remember your name and recall a few facts from our first encounter.
If we've spent a few hours together, you probably know that I love to be with people and enjoy getting to know and laughing with those around me.
If you've known me for a few months, you've probably discovered a few things that are important to me: my relationship with Jesus, my family, and many good friends. You probably also realize that I like that my job is mostly with people and helping them achieve their dreams.
If you've known me for a year you've probably seen me live - and too often die - with my Cubs. You've probably also wondered why a guy who grew up most of his life an hour from Columbus in Ohio is in love with the Michigan Wolverines. Of course, I probably explained that I was born up in northern Indiana, to which you asked why I'm also a Dallas Cowboys fan. Well, probably because I loved the Lone Ranger as a child. I remember it was a special treat when I was very young to watch just the kickoff of Monday Night Football when the Cowboys were on...then time for bed.
I will sing like no one is listening, even when you are. I don't read enough, but I'm working on that. Despite some scars and ailments from being active, I continue to pretend that I am superman - still playing sports like I'm 16. There are some scars from relationships that may not be quite so visible, but a life without risk isn't very exciting, in my opinion. I am an extrovert, but I am not afraid of silence. I love my family and they love me, too...a reciprocal relationship that is too rare today.
Most importantly, my life is worth something because Jesus died for me. That doesn't make me perfect, and I don't expect perfection from my friends. But I do expect loyalty and honesty, even when that hurts.
