About Me

What Cait likes to do is look at the sky. She practically lives there. Lots of people are mad at Cait.
I'm odd. I'm a non-conventionalist. Somewhere along the way something must've hit my head and pressed the "On" button. I'm a slacker, I don't do much other than daydream; although, if you're a fellow slacker, you know how that's where true responsibility lies. I believe in freedom over anything- respect for autonomy is more important than all else- if you've got that down, "live and let live," it's impossible to do wrong. Everything, however, impacts other living people and "things." For this reason, and my apologies for resorting to name calling here, I'm a pacifist, luddite, environmentalist, animal rights activist, vegetarian, humanist (as compared to feminist), pro-lifer, socialist, anarchist, and so on. Emphasis on all of those. I can't stand modern society. It neglects everything important in life- the importance of insight, enlightenment, joy, creativity, love- everything ironically necessary in keeping any society going, and instead has traded it in for consumerism, materialism, selfishness, fear, and conformity. It's like someone stood over America and most of "the rest of the world" and picked out every speck of sincerity and curiosity. I'm not OK with this. However, despite this not OK-ness, I let it be. It's clear that you cannot wake someone from a coma until their own minds turn themselves on. But I'm not passive. Anything that violates any living things autonomy needs (I would put that in bold, but I can't) to be spoken up for. This planet and too many of the things that call it home are dying. I've come close to falling off the crazy cliff more than a few times because I don't know how to get people's heads out of the sand. Live a dull and empty life, fine. Try to take away another's life, less fine. This world is crumbling and only a few have the eyes to look up. Our planet is deteriorating, though most of us are preoccupied with ignoring war, famine, and worse, while we go shopping, and trying to figure out how to fit into the false but ridiculously accepted standards of what's "right." One word, that if I could say into everyone's ear I more than gladly would- THINK.Any questions?
"Hey. Could we do that again? I know we haven't met, but I don't want to be an ant. You know? I mean, it's like we go through life with our antennas bouncing off one another, continuously on ant autopilot, with nothing really human required of us. Stop. Go. Walk here. Drive there. All action basically for survival. All communication simply to keep this ant colony buzzing along in an efficient, polite manner. "Here's your change." "Paper or plastic?' "Credit or debit?" "You want ketchup with that?" I don't want a straw. I want real human moments. I want to see you. I want you to see me. I don't want to give that up. I don't want to be ant, you know? "
