About Me

Layout Created at KillerKiwi.net
Formed in the womb, a good nine or so months before December of 1982, I burst onto the Fresno scene a mess. It took a good nineteen years of motor skill and brain development, plus lessons in piano, guitar, and baroque and classical music theory, before I started to write music. After exposure to the supercool Electro-acoustic program at Dartmouth, and help from comp teachers (and friendly folk) Charles Dodge and Larry Polansky, and friendly folk (and comp teachers, though not mine) Jon Appleton and Kui Dong, I went down the roads of stark, process-based experimentalism, texture-oriented/feel-good sound-painting, harsh/jarring experimentalism, abstract, touchy-feely philosophical experimentation, simple melodic and harmonic play, complex (maybe?) melodic and harmonic play, american/indonesian/african/eastern-european folk rhythmic and tone play, and cultural/performanct-theory-as-it-relates-to-music?-yes,-mus ic. Now at CalArts, in the Experimental Sound Practices degree program, studying with Sara Roberts, and really enjoying it. Working with dancers, film folk.... I'm also doing an album of folky, electronicky stuff, to come out early in 2006. Check out the alternate profile for that.
