..They say the best artists are the hungriest. Caleb Bolt has painted most of his life. It was only recently that Caleb took a step in a different direction to experience what the other arts of the world were waiting to offer him. While selling his artwork online, he caught the attention of master sensai Steven Segal. Several of his paintings were purchased by the famous martial arts action star before Segal commissioned Caleb to paint an intimate portrait with Segal. Caleb was hesitant because he had never either painted nudes or painted in the nude before. As Segal watched him paint, he realized the control he had in his hands was the rawest talent he had ever seen in a person. Segal asked for a massage. Caleb knew what side of the line he was on so he declined. He passed Segal’s test and said if he was a real man, he’d come with him to fight in Japan. His focus on detail paid off when Segal recruited him to Japan to learn to fight. After the accidental death of an opponent in a sparring match, Caleb turned his back on fighting as a career option… But all was not lost. While in Japan, he experienced the popular cuisine known as sushi. He learned from the best chef in Japan, combining all the skills he learned over the last three weeks of his life. The art of painting, the art of fighting and the love of good food brought Caleb to where he is now… At Bamboo Stix, Caleb can be seen making what’s known as some of the best sushi in Wichita. It’s good to be a hungry artist.
