About Me

Ian Reith was born in 1971 and was raise just outside Manchester , England . When he was 18 he attended Grange technical college to study technical theatre and television . On completion of this he went to teach children in New York state at the French Woods performing arts centre . On his return to the uk Ian joined the leading lighting company Vari Lite where he worked for 8 years as a technician and console operator on various tours and television shows such as Prince , Inxs , Simple Minds Def Leppard and many more . Towards the end of this period Ian wanted to venture more into the multi media side of the industry venturing more into the video areas of new technology . Since leaving Ian has been very busy and set up his own company called Fractured Pictures which specialize in lighting and video in television , film and concert entertainment. He has worked on many large scale productions such as The Laureus World Sports Awards , Miss World 2004 , Robbie Williams , Uk Hall Of Fame , The Britt Awards , Cats the movie and 3 Royal Variety Performances . During the time spent within the entertainment industry Ian started to write his own music , influenced by other musicians such as Peter Gabriel , Sarah Mclachlan , U2 , Simple Minds and various world music sources . Ians first album Moments Of Grace has been written over several years and is now nearing completion . Along with writing the music Ian has been working on a concept for a stage show using his large range of experience form within the entertainment industry . The show is based on a theme of personal growth and life experience and will incorporate a large amount of state of the art technology to create visual effects to create the moods and atmosphere . Ian is aiming to have the album completed by the end of the year . Close your eyes and listen, and Ian will take you on a voyage of discovery, inviting you to share the richness of his world. All too often, progressive rock can become pale and soulless. Not so for Ian Reith's music, which carries feeling and flavor along with its heavy bottom line. Definately worth getting to know, Reith's music is fluid as a painting, giving both emotional resonance and a rythym to move your hips to . Recent years have seen a plethora of constructed bands and ‘stars’ with very little real talent. How refreshing then to find a new artist with a very obvious talent. Ian Reith has developed a very individual style in his Moments of Grace album. The tracks have very obviously come from the composers own wide experience of life and when listened to as a whole, his journey through life becomes very apparent. From, quite literally, the birth of the album with Dont You Feel Lucky the listener is drawn into an intense world of multilayered sounds which fills the ears. As the tracks progress, a world of emotions is laid bare. Whilst eachtrack is startling in it’s own way there is a theme which runs through the album which connects each track to the last and to the listener, allowing us to progress through the full range of feelings which the album invokes. This first album by Ian Reith displays a maturity and completeness so often lacking in music these days. This is an album to be bought, played again and again and to be recommended . With Ian's music I feel and think of many things. It brings me joy and laughter when I think of how my mates all stopped what they were doing to demand an encore performance of his first CD. Very Happy Wow, I was popular that day! Then there are the days where I quietly listen to his music in my car. The images and ideas that come to mind are amazing. They span such a wide horizon. These songs can make me feel sky high, like I'm flying or can bring me to the brink of tears. Either way they are inspiring and soothing. For me, the strongest indication that Ian's music is very special is in the ways I use it. Quite often I use his music to unwind after a hard day. I also use the music to help create calmness within my home on hectic days. Most importantly Ian's music is synonymous with the 'moment of Grace' that's embedded in each song. With this comes inspiration and a peaceful inner feeling. The world is a little easier to deal with when Ian's songs are in the background waiting to be heard. . embed enableJavascript="false" allowScriptAccess="never" allownetworking="internal"
