Music is always part of a visual universe that makes every instant intriguing. Not just scene design and choreography but multimedia inserts and video-clips are added to make every music performance a total event.

The V A R D E N built up their musical experience during the 5 years of activity of the rock-band Dolly Varden that they founded and inspired.
--Live Experience--
The originary band were founded in May 1996. They started their artistic career in January 1997 when they took part in the international competition Emergenza Rock and they were placed 4th out of more than 300 bands competing in Lombardia region. Their vocalist Pietro Foresti was awarded best musician of the competition.
From then on, their live experience was remarkable, with more than 300 concerts played all over Italy; they participated in several Summer festivals and in most part of national record fairs and they repeatedly performed in Italy and Switzerland.
In 1999 they took part, often as headliner band, to a great number of Italian motorcycle rallies, travelling the peninsula from the North to the South.
--Scene Design--
A great part of their on stage success was certainly due to their thorough research in scene design and choreography, conceived as the accomplishment of the musical section. In their live sessions, they always offered an intense show rich in scenographic effects, personally designed and realized: self-moving structures, such as INFLATABLE AND MECANIC SCENES, SELF-MOVING MACHINERIES
--1998 first CD--
In May 1998, they were selected to benefit of an artistic production: the Progetto Sottosuono, (by the Social Cooperative: La Linea dell'Arco) that gave them the opportunity to record their first homonymous CD, printed in 500 copies.
The single 'Dolly Machine' was at the top of the list of the most downloaded tracks on the Internet site Vitaminic during the whole month of May 1999.
--2000 - 'Nowhere'--
In 2000 the V A R D E N realized in collaboration with the arranger Andrea Trapasso the test-pieces for the soundtrack of Luìs Sepulvedas movie 'Nowhere', produced by SurfFilm in Rome. Their eight original pieces were highly praised, although the final production was given to Nicola Piovani.
--2001/2002 Orange Studio--
From 2001 to 2002 the V A R D E N set up in their recording studio Orange Studio where they created more than 50 original tracks for digital TV channels (RTI Music).
--2003 'Le Allucinazioni Artistiche' ('Artistic Hallucinations')--
In 2003 the V A R D E N wrote the script of the show 'Le Allucinazioni Artistiche', supervised by Riccardo Recchia (Tv director of 'Zelig'), directed by Valentina De Renzis and starring Sonia Litrico and Cecilia Vecchio.
They also took part in the production, by writing the original music and designing the scenes of the second edition of the show.
--2003 'Il tempo ci unisce'/'Pensiero Criminale'
('Time binds us together'/'Criminal mind')--
The experience of the multimedia show dimension a mixing of music, theatre and video pushed the V A R D E N into creating and producing the experimental project 'Il Tempo ci Unisce (video directed by Roberto Foresti; co-written by Ale Carozzi).
The 5 pieces used as the show soundtracks were included in the self-produced mini-CD 'Pensiero Criminale', that marked a significant change in the V A R D E Ns composing line, through the use of Italian language and the introduction of electronic inserts in their hard-rock arrangements.
The leading track 'Pensiero Criminale', was made part of the compilation 'Indigestible Sounds', produced by Noisy Hours in Lecco, and received excellent reviews.
