I love sitting around with people and playing what I call "So then...", where anyone who wants to pipes up with the end of a story that makes no sense.
Some of my favorites:
"After that, I was picking stained glass out of my ass for WEEKS!"
"And ever since that accident with the elephant, I've been able to fart the Star-Spangled Banner!"
"That is the last time I EVER use Velveeta as a lubricant!"
"Turns out it DID taste just like chicken!"
"And that is the last time I accept a pony ride at Neverland Ranch." Sorry, Cece. Heh.
I used to make excuses for why I talked randomly to people on MySpace. I'm not going to anymore. I like meeting new people. I like learning. If that makes me weird, that makes me weird.
I'll be honest, I love comic books. I love tabletop strategy games. I love sci-fi, I love fantasy, I love using my imagination. And yeah, that's a geeky list of things to love. But you learn a lot about the world by loving things outside the norm, and besides that; I don't live in my parents' basement, and I lack hygiene issues, so I really don't care if what I like is geeky.
I've had an interesting life so far, and I really think that a storied history is more important than being perfect. I'm not. I never will be. But I'm learning to be happy with who I am, and I think that's key.
Finally, your only goal in life should be fun. That's mine.
